The Boston Bruins just can't find a way to beat the New Jersey Devils.

The Bruins lost a 1-0 heartbreaker to the Devils at TD Garden on Sunday, as video review denied them an equalizing goal on two separate occasions in the final two minutes.

Boston now has lost four of five to New Jersey this season and haven't beaten the Devils -- who entered with the NHL's fifth-worst record -- since opening night.

New Jersey goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood stopped all 40 shots he faced to record his first shutout of the season, as two of the Bruins' four games with no goals this season have come against the Devils.

The B's drop to 17-9-5 on the season with the loss and hold a slim lead over the Philadelphia Flyers for fourth place in the East Division.

HIGHLIGHTS

The Devils opened the scoring late in the first period when Kyle Palmieri got his stick on a Ty Smith shot to beat Halak.

Patrice Bergeron appeared to tie things up with under two minutes remaining in the third period, but the call was overturned after a Devils challenge when the officials ruled that David Krejci had poked the puck out from under Blackwood's glove and that the play should have been blown dead.

The Bruins nearly tied the score again with 1.1 seconds remaining, but Blackwood made a sensational pad save that held up after video review.
