Morning Skate: Ex-Providence coach gets a new job

Here are the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading on the 30th Anniversary of a Live Aid concert that had many around the world -- myself included -- glued to the television watching all of the amazing music.

-- Former Providence Bruins coach Scott Gordon has hooked on as the new coach of the AHL Lehigh Valley Phantoms in the Flyers organization, and he’ll be joined on staff by Riley Cote.

-- New Blackhawks forward Marko Dano, acquired in the Brandon Saad trade with the Blue Jackets, plans to emulate Marian Hossa now that he’ll be up close and personal with the Chicago forward

-- PHT writer Ryan Dadoun has Buffalo Sabres GM Tim Murray still targeting free agent defenseman Johnny Oduya.

-- Ryan Kennedy from the Hockey News wonders how different life would be for both the Maple Leafs and Bruins had Toronto won Game 7 in the first round of the 2013 playoffs.

-- FOH (Friend of Haggs) Wayne Scanlan has a good story on Bruins first rounder Zachary Senyshyn, who most didn’t expect to be taken that early.

--The Bruins don’t have any arbitration cases, but keep track of all the others in the NHL with the Sportsnet “arbitration tracker.”

-- For something completely different: As mentioned above, it’s the 30th anniversary of Live Aid and I still vividly remember Queen crushing their set, and having a profound effect on a certain Bruins Insider when he was 10 years old.
