Here’s all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading on a quiet hockey weekend prior to Bruins development camp. I would recommend that B’s fans not read so many of the breathless rumors that are out there from unconventional sources at this point.
* PHT writer Cam Tucker has Milan Lucic stressing the importance of playing well, rather than his contract, with the Los Angeles Kings.
* This confirms what I had heard many, many times over the last few months: The Columbus Blue Jackets were heavy into the Dougie Hamilton discussions before he was moved to the Calgary Flames.
* Some funky stuff going on with the AHL next season where the new West Coast franchises will be playing fewer games than the rest of the league.
* Boston College D-man and top first round pick Noah Hanifin signs an entry level with the Hurricanes, and officially closes the book on his career with the Eagles after one season.
* Local hockey product and Minnesota Wild forward Charlie Coyle was among a number of BU and BC players that participated in a charity hockey game over the weekend to benefit ALS research.
Boston Bruins
* T.J. Oshie received a warm welcome in Washington DC after arriving via trade as a new member of the Washington Capitals.
* Larry Brooks says that the New York Rangers have yet to offer Derek Stepan the mega-deal that he has coming to him.
* For something completely different: I’m not sure I know what they’re talking about, but the New York Post says that Jason Pierre Paul can’t pull a Luke Skywalker.
