Haggerty's Morning Skate: Lamoriello's mind-blowing move

Here are the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading, with my mind blown by the Lou Lamoriello maneuver pulled off in Toronto. Wow.

*It was quite a season for Nick Foligno and the Columbus Blue Jackets and no coincidence it happened in the forward’s first full season as a family man.

*As mentioned above, PHT writer and FOH (Friend of Haggs) Mike Halford has the mind-blowing regime change in Toronto that will have Brendan Shanahan, head coach Mike Babcock and new GM Lou Lamoriello all working together on the Leafs. That should be really, really interesting with three big hockey personalities all working closely together in the Toronto pressure cooker.

*Glendale and the Arizona Coyotes say that their arena dispute is resolved. That is a pretty amazing turnaround from just a few weeks ago.

*Good piece from Katie Strang about NHL superstars leaving on a high note by winning Stanley Cups at the end of their careers, and it’s fitting that Mark Recchi is the first name on her list after he did just that in 2011 with the Bruins.

*NHL commissioner Gary Bettman says he wasn’t surprised that Seattle didn’t officially throw their hat in the ring for expansion, and it probably shouldn’t be shocking given their arena situation.

*Speaking of expansion, Ken Campbell says that there’s no way the NHL can ignore Quebec City and the Nordiques now.

*For something completely different: Paul Rudd and Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige answer some questions about Ant-Man and Phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. For what it’s worth, I saw Ant-Man this week and loved it.
