Training camp is back with the Patriots kicking off practice Thursday, which means the return of Reporting From Foxboro. Tom E. Curran, Mike Giardi and Phil Perry check in from training camp, with a close eye on second-year quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.
There is uncertainty surrounding Tom Brady and his availability at the start of the season, and if his four-game suspension holds up in federal court, the Patriots will have to turn to Garoppolo. So naturally, there's plenty of attention on the Eastern Illinois product as camp kicks off.
So how'd he look?
"Jimmy Garoppolo, I think in the number of reps, was a pretty similar number to Tom Brady," Phil Perry said. "But in terms of who he was working with, it looked more like he was working with the second team, although he did get some reps with some first team guys. In terms of accuracy, good, not great."
