Report: Sherman would be open to Patriots trade

Is the possibility of Richard Sherman to the Patriots slim since they signed Stephon Gilmore? Not necessarily, according to the Boston Herald's Jeff Howe.

In a series of tweets Wednesday, Howe said that the Seahawks, who had talks with New England about the star cornerback earlier this offseason, could still end up trading the player before the NFL draft. Howe added that the Patriots wouldn't ramp up their pursuit of Sherman unless they trade Malcolm Butler, however.

Such a situation with Butler could still play itself out, as the restricted free agent met with the Saints this offseason and could be moved to any team once he signs his $3.91 million tender for the 2017 season.
