Celtics-Nets recap: Tatum takes over, leads blowout win in Brooklyn

Well, this one escalated quickly.

The Celtics have jumped out to a 26-point lead with just over four minutes remaining. Payton Pritchard has helped extend the lead with 20 points off the bench. He also has seven assists, five rebounds, two steals, and a block.

Jayson Tatum (34 points) and Jaylen Brown (24 points) have done their part to help Boston bounce back from Tuesday's loss, barring an epic collapse down the final stretch.

After getting crushed on the glass in Tuesday's loss to Atlanta, the Celtics have a 10-3 advantage on the offensive boards vs. the Nets.

Jayson Tatum has propelled the C's to an 14-point lead heading into the fourth quarter with a game-high 31 points (11-18 FG, 5-6 3-PT), seven assists, and six rebounds. Jaylen Brown has 23 points and eight boards while Payton Pritchard has 14 points, six assists, and five rebounds off the bench.

The Celtics have taken control of this game and now lead by double digits early in the third quarter. Jayson Tatum (22 points) and Jaylen Brown (21 points) continue to assert their dominance. They're a combined 15-for-27 from the floor and 6-for-9 from 3-point range.

Boston has made five of their first six shots in the quarter.

The Celtics have bounced back from their slow start to take a slim lead into the half.

Jaylen Brown (19 points) and Jayson Tatum (16 points) have been the stars, but Payton Pritchard is cooking with 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting (3-5 3-PT) off the bench. He also has five assists and five rebounds.

Ziaire Williams (16 points), Cam Thomas (12 points), and Dennis Schroder (11 points) helped Brooklyn maintain a lead for most of the first half.

The Celtics have tied it back up with just over two minutes to go in the first half.

The Jays have led the way. Jayson Tatum has 16 points after notching 13 in the opening quarter, and Jaylen Brown has a game-high 17.

Brown received a technical foul for arguing a non-call. Meanwhile, Neemias Queta has joined Derrick White in the three-foul club.

The Celtics looked sharp to start the second quarter but have gotten back into a bit of a funk. The Nets went on an 8-2 run before Boston called a timeout.

Jayson Tatum still leads the C's with 13 points. Sam Hauser has nine off the bench.

Ziaire Williams and Dennis Schroder have 11 and 10 for the Nets, respectively.

Jaylen Brown and Sam Hauser have added six points apiece. It's been a rough start for Derrick White as he already has three fouls and three turnovers.

Boston trails Brooklyn by 10 as we near the end of the opening frame. Jaylen Brown still leads the C's with six points. Payton Pritchard and Sam Hauser have chipped in three each off the bench.

Celtics guard Derrick White spoke after Tuesday's loss to Atlanta about the team's troubling trend of starting games off slow. They've gotten off to another sluggish start tonight in Brooklyn.

Boston shot 2-of-10 from the floor (1-7 3-PT) with three turnovers in the first five minutes. The Nets, meanwhile, are 7-of-13 with no turnovers.

Ziaire Williams leads Brooklyn with nine points. Jaylen Brown has six of the Celtics eight points.

The C's have now trailed by double digits in four consecutive games.
