NBC Sports Boston originally launched on Nov. 6, 1981, as PRISM New England. Comcast has owned the network since 2007 and operated it as NBC Sports Boston since 2017.

NBC Sports Boston provides in-depth coverage of professional sports teams in Boston and New England, including the Boston Celtics, New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, Connecticut Sun and New England Free Jacks.

NBC Sports Boston broadcasts a majority of Boston Celtics games each season in addition to pregame, halftime and postgame shows for every Boston Celtics and New England Patriots game. Our robust broadcast lineup includes daily sports talk shows as well as Celtics- and Patriots-specific programming highlighted by in-depth analysis from Insiders and former players.

Our history

NBC Sports Boston originally launched on Nov. 6, 1981, as PRISM New England. Along with carrying entertainment programming, the network also served as the cable television home for the NHL’s Hartford Whalers and the NBA’s Boston Celtics, as well as various college sports teams.

The network has been owned by Comcast since 2007 and has operated as NBC Sports Boston since 2017. NBC Sports Boston is the broadcast home of the NBA’s Boston Celtics, the G League’s Maine Celtics, the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun and Major League Rugby’s New England Free Jacks.

What do we offer our audience?

Our robust on-air Celtics coverage includes live game broadcasts, Celtics Pregame Live, Celtics Halftime Live, Celtics Postgame Live and Celtics PostUp, with Brian Scalabrine, Drew Carter, Abby Chin, Eddie House, Tom Giles, Chris Forsberg, Kayla Burton, and Michael Holley headlining our expert broadcast team.
