WATCH: Red Sox crush three first-inning homers in London game

The Boston Red Sox made Stephen Tarpley's first major league start a difficult one.

With the New York Yankees treating Sunday's London game as a bullpen day, Tarpley took the mound for the Yankees in the 1st inning. And safe to say, he had his share of issues.

In the 1st inning, the Red Sox were able to club three first-inning homers. Xander Bogaerts and J.D. Martinez went back-to-back while Christian Vazquez would later hit his 11th of the season. Here's a look at all of the homers from that inning.

The was just the sixth time the Red Sox have homered three times in the 1st inning and the first since Aug. 14, 1979 against the Minnesota Twins, per MLB.com's Ian Browne.

The Red Sox have had a bit of a power surge in the London ballpark. They hit three homers in Saturday's 17-13 loss against the Yankees. Hopefully, their strong offensive performance will carry over into the team's final week of games before the 2019 MLB All-Star Game.
