According to ESPN's Jayson Stark's report on Wednesday, the Red Sox, Dodgers, Cubs or Rangers are all in the mix to trade for Philadelphia Phillies ace Cole Hamels before the trade deadline.
While the Red Sox need starting pitching, Kirk Minihane does not believe this is the right move for the club at this time.
"I know the money's not insane, but he's in his 30s and we've gone over this a million times - it never works," said Minihane. "They shouldn't be doing this. They should be finding younger guys, trying to figure it out. You know if they bring him in here it's not going to work… Bringing in Cole Hamels is not a good idea for this team."
