NFL asks federal court to confirm Brady suspension

Before the NFLPA and Tom Brady can take the NFL to court, it looks like the league is trying to cut them off at the pass.

According to Scott Soshnick of Bloomberg News, the NFL has asked for a federal court in Manhattan to confirm its four-game suspension of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Per Soshnick, the complaint was filed in Manhattan.

It had been previously reported that if Brady and the NFLPA were to take their case to federal court that they would have liked to file in Massachusetts, which would be home turf for Brady, or Minnesota, which is perceived to be a labor-friendly state.

Soon after Soshnick's report was published on Twitter, ESPN reported that Brady has given the players union the go-ahead to take his case to federal court.
