FOXBORO — When James Harrison cleared waivers and became a free agent allowed to sign with any team, he had a decision to make: sign with the Patriots or don’t play football.
The former Steeler divulged as much Friday when speaking to the media, saying that he didn’t exactly face much of a choice upon clearing waivers. The Patriots were the only team that would have him.

“There was no other offers,” Harrison said.
That was the extent of Harrison’s answers, as the 39-year-old linebacker was extremely brief with his responses to queries from the assembled media.
While Harrison didn’t have much to say in person, he made his message clear Friday on Instagram when he fired back at the Steelers for their recent criticisms of him. For those comments, click here.
