Curran: NFL's ‘huge trump card' was news of cell phone

Tom E. Curran's quick reaction to the NFL deciding to uphold all of Tom Brady's four-game suspension:

"The NFL dropping a huge trump card on this Tuesday by saying that on March 6, Brady destroyed the cell phone he had in service from November 6 to March 6. As a result, it went from just withholding evidence to destroying evidence.

"Certainly, it's a silly decision on the part of Tom Brady no matter how much recourse he feels he has in terms of defending his privacy."

As a result, said Curran, the NFL decided the episode "seemed more of a devious scheme by the Patriots. And the effort to destroy evidence, again, is the trump card the NFL laid down today."
