Two Boston Celtics are featured on the Orlando Magic's now-infamous big board.
Kelly Olynyk and Jonas Jerebko appeared on an accidentally leaked list on the Magic's dry erase board, which showed Orlando's offseason targets. A photo of the dry erase board appeared on Twitter after the Magic signed Patricio Garino out of the D-league. Garino's agent posted a celebratory photo, but the backdrop included the Magic's offseason targets. The agent quickly deleted the photo, but fans and media members saved the image.
The board included lists for "Hybrid Trade," "Hybrid Free Agency," "Spread Bigs Trade." Jerebko was near the bottom of the "Hybrid Free Agency" list. Olynyk was at the bottom of a list, the name of which is cut off in the picture.
Via The Orlando Sentinel, Magic general manager Rob Hennigan said the lists on the board are “not indicative of plans” and were “simply listing options, including some of which other teams have inquired about.”
The potential targeting of Celtics players certianly wasn't the juciest bit of information gleaned from the dry erase board. The list shows Philadelphia 76ers for Dario Saric listed beside "AG" or Aaron Gordon. Was a trade in the works?
“It wasn’t for me to see, so for me to see something like that, it brings something that’s out of my control into my reality. But that’s neither here nor there. My plan and my focus is to play basketball and to enjoy the game of basketball," Gordon told The Sentinel. "Anything other than that is out of my control. I love this organization and I’m going to continue to work hard and play.”
The Magic will surely move their contract signings into a different room now on.
