Kings trade Cousins to Pelicans for Hield, Evans, Galloway and draft picks

DeMarcus Cousins can stay in New Orleans after playing in Sunday night's All-Star Game.

The Sacramento Kings have traded All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins and forward Omri Casspi to the New Orleans Pelicans for Tyreke Evans, Buddy Hield, Langston Galloway, a protected 2017 first-round pick and 2017 second-round pick.

The news was first reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical and confirmed by Kings Insider James Ham of CSN California.

Cousins was leading the Kings with 27.8 points, 10.7 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game before the trade.

According to Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald, the Boston Celtics were not one of the teams pursuing Cousins before he was dealt to New Orleans.
