Fournier is second Celtic in 25 seasons to accomplish this feat

Evan Fournier bounced back from his rough start with the Boston Celtics in a big way Friday night.

After totaling just six points through his first two games with the C's, Fournier dropped 23 in the victory over the Houston Rockets. Twenty of those points came in the fourth quarter, when he was a perfect 7-for-7 from the field (6-for-6 from 3).

Time Lord puts together best career game in C's win

The former Orlando Magic forward's seven total 3-pointers marked a career-high, but that wasn't his only impressive feat in the game. According to ESPN Stats & Info, Fournier became the second C's player over the last 25 seasons to drop 20 on 100-percent shooting in a quarter.

The last Celtic with a quarter like that? That would be Paul Pierce, who tallied 20 points in the third quarter of a 2009 game vs. the Chicago Bulls.

Not bad company for the Celtics newcomer to be in.

These numbers from longtime Celtics radio voice Sean Grande really put Fournier's stellar fourth quarter into perspective:

Fournier will look to carry momentum from Friday's performance into Sunday's game vs. the Charlotte Hornets. Tip-off for that matchup is set for 6 p.m. ET.
