Blakely: Celtics Summer League scouting report

Summer League is over, and A. Sherrod Blakely discussed which young Celtics impressed, and which didn't, with Trenni Kusnierek on Monday's SportsNet Central:

THUMB'S UP: MARCUS SMART
"Before he had the finger injuries, [he] really had a great command of the game; shot the ball, I thought, pretty well. But more than anything else his defense and his comfort level running the show was great."

THUMB'S UP: TERRY ROZIER
"Not as impressive (as Smart), but certainly for a first-time rookie who there were a lot of question marks about, I think he did a good job of answering some of them."

THUMB'S UP: R.J. HUNTER
"Got off to a slow start in Salt Lake City, [but he] got to Vegas and seemed to find his swag, find his mojo, and was a really effective shooter. And showed that he can do more than just knock down shots. He can also put it on the floor a little bit and score going to the rim."

THUMB'S DOWN: JAMES YOUNG
"I was really pulling for this guy to . . . show us something, because he's such a good kid, but James Young just did not do it. Had a great finish to Summer League, with 16 points in that last game, but for the most part he was a non-factor. And it was not only because he struggled in terms of shooting the ball and making his presence felt, but he wasn't healthy for the most part. And that has been the knock on him ever since the Celtics drafted him -- actually, right before the Celtics drafted him -- and that is his inability to stay healthy and contribute. When healthy, he's a solid player. But he has to find a way to stay healthy and get on the floor. Otherwise, he's not going to be a Celtic very much longer."
