The Red Sox season likely isn't getting any better.
Fresh off a seven-game road losing streak and the trade deadline just a week away, should the Red Sox be showcasing veterans for trades, or is it time to play the kids?
It's not so cut-and-dry.
"For me, it’s about who is the veteran in front of? Who do I want to see play," Lou Merloni said. "Do I have a problem with Mike Napoli getting hot at the right time to maybe get a little bit more? No. Not really because who’s behind him, maybe a peek at Alan Craig? But when I look at Shane Victorino and Alejandro De Aza, now I’m starting to see guys that are in the way of Jackie Bradley Jr. and Rusney Castillo. I don’t mind playing Nap for the next week, but I’ve got to see these young kids in this outfield. You have to clear some spots in the outfield."
