Dennis Eckersley responds to Marcus Stroman's ‘hypocrite' comment

It appears the Marcus Stroman-Dennis Eckersley feud is approaching the finish line.

During Sunday night's 6-1 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays, the NESN broadcaster called Stroman "tired" after the pitcher shouted at the Red Sox bullpen in celebration. After the game, Stroman went after the Hall of Famer on Twitter. Stroman had plenty to celebrate after tossing six scoreless innings.

But on Monday, in an interview with WEEI, Eckersley attempted to squash the beef. "I get it, where he's coming from," Eckersley said. "There was a lot of people who thought I was tired too."

Eckersley, who pitched in the majors for 24 years, was known for trash-talking and making taunting gestures on the mound after strikeouts.
