Rookie goaltender Jeremy Swayman has been red-hot for the Boston Bruins of late, and on Tuesday his excellent performance was recognized by the NHL.

The league named Swayman the Rookie of the Month for February. He's the first Bruins player to earn Rookie of the Month honors since goaltender Andrew Raycroft in February of 2004.

Swayman posted a 5-1-1 record, a .960 save percentage and a 1.13 goals against average in the month, helping the Bruins strengthen their odds of reaching the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs. He also gave up two goals or fewer in six of those seven games.

The University of Maine product also tallied two shutouts in February, including a 7-0 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Monday night.

Swayman is looking more and more like Boston's best choice to start Game 1 of the playoffs.
