The one person taking the most heat for the Red Sox' September collapse is Josh Beckett, both for his performance on the field in the final month (dismal) and his apparently prominent role in Chicken-and-Beer Gate.
Mike Lowell was Beckett's teammate in both Florida and Boston, and he's not happy that Beckett is catching most of the blame.
"I love Josh," Lowell said Wednesday during an appearance on 'Felger & Mazz'. "I think he's an ultimate competitor. I think he was basically made the scapegoat of all this September stuff, which I think was a little bit unfair.
