Rob Gronkowski insists Patriots don't treat Tom Brady like a ‘superstar'

Now that Rob Gronkowski is no longer a New England Patriot, he's more willing to share how they run their operation.

The retired tight end apparently will pull the curtain back Sept. 3 during a new episode of HBO's "The Shop," the informal talk show co-executive produced by LeBron James.

Here's a teaser for the new episode, which features a notable exchange between Gronkowski and rapper Charlamagne tha God:

"You're not treated like a superstar in that organization," Gronk says.

"Not even Brady?" Charlamagne tha God responds.

"Not even Brady," Gronk replies.

Gronk's revelation isn't all that surprising. The Patriots have espoused a team-first mindset under head coach Bill Belichick, both on the field and in their finances. Brady has never been the NFL's highest-paid quarterback despite his unrivaled pedigree and has accepted several team-friendly contracts during his 20-year career.

The full episode of "The Shop" should be interesting television, as Gronk will join big names like James, Kevin Hart, Kevin Love and CJ McCollum and likely discuss why he decided to retire at age 29.

For those who want to hear from Gronk sooner, the ex-Patriot is holding a press conference at 9:30 a.m. ET on Tuesday morning to reveal his "next chapter."
