There's a sizable hole on the Patriots' defensive line with the departure of Vince Wilfork to the Houston Texans.
Filling it is no easy task, but through the early days of training camp, first-round draft pick Malcolm Brown is showing some potential to be a big contributor on the defensive line.
"Vince Wilfork of course has gone some place else and taken all of his possibly-Hall-of-Fame skills with him. I’m not saying Malcolm Brown is anything close to what Vince Wilfork is, but that raw power you have to have to be able to anchor, wrestle with somebody and clog things up on the front line, he has that," Tom E. Curran said. "He showed it it all day Sunday. What hopefully comes, because he’s young and still getting stronger, is that upfield explosiveness Vince had."
