FOXBOROYes, he threw for 300-plus yards. Yes, he's still on pace to become the third quarterback in NFL history to amass 5,000 or more passing yards in a season.

But Tom Brady still sees room for improvement.

I thought we could have done a lot better offensively," Brady said of the Patriots' 30-21 victory over the Jets Sunday.

Brady, in fact, made a mistake Sunday he'd never made before: A red-zone interception in a game at Gillette Stadium. He'd previously had 91 red-zone touchdown throws and no interceptions in home regular-season games, but Antonio Cromartie picked off a pass that was flubbed by tight end Aaron Hernandez at the goal line on the last play of the first half.

However, Brady made amends in the Pats' next red-zone possession, finding a wide-open Deion Branch in the back-left corner of the end zone after Branch faked a post-route, and got Cromartie to bite.

We were just trying to get aligned right, said Brady when asked what he changed at the line of scrimmage before the snap. I think that drive we were moving pretty fast. Were just trying to get things communicated the right way and get them how we wanted them.

Its a good play, we worked on it all week in practice, said Branch. Obviously I wasnt the first read. So I thank whoever didnt get open on the front side. But no, I think Tom Brady went through his progression. I think it was Wes Welker to Aaron and then back to me.

With the touchdown pass, Brady moved into a tie for eighth place with Vinny Testaverde on the NFLs all-time touchdown list with 275 career touchdown passes.
