For the second consecutive night, Jaylen Brown will not be playing for the Boston Celtics as he deals with a shoulder injury.
And for the second straight night, Brad Stevens had a positive update about Brown's status.
In a pregame conference call with reporters, Stevens confirmed that while Brown's injury is "painful", he is just day-to-day.

"[Jaylen's injury is] not severe from what I've been told as far as long term, but [it's] certainly painful," Stevens said. "And certainly, he doesn't have full range of motion when he's working it out, when he's using it."
That definitely sounds like good news. If Brown was close to playing on Friday, that means he should have an even better chance of playing on Sunday against the Charlotte Hornets. If not, then he could return to action either Tuesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder or Wednesday against the Hornets again.
And Brown also was able to get in an extensive pregame workout in before the C's game against the Nets, so that would seemingly bode well for him too.
The Celtics will probably continue to be cautious with their young star, who is averaging 24.5 points per game this season. But if Stevens believes that he's close to returning, Brown shouldn't be out of the lineup too much longer.
So maybe soon, the C's will finally have their full complement of players available for a game as they reach the stretch run of the regular season.
