Cueto open to playing for Red Sox someday

When the Boston Red Sox introduced new president of baseball operations DAve Dombrowski on Wednesday, he said "you need to have a number one type of guy" in the rotation if you want to compete for a championship.

Kansas City Royals ace Johnny Cueto is that type of guy.

But will the Red Sox pursue the 29-year-old ace?

CSNNE's Jessica Moran says Cueto was chatting with Red Sox outfielder Hanley Ramirez prior to Thursday night's game and said if the opportunity presented itself he would love to pitch in Boston someday.

Take it for what it's worth, but it sounds like he's at least open to the possibility of settling down in Boston.

Cueto is set to hit the free agent market after he was dealt by the Cincinnati Reds to Kansas City for Cody Reed, Brandon Finnegan and John Lamb.
