WATCH: Bergeron nets hat trick in Bruins' win over Flyers

The Boston Bruins got a much-needed 4-2 regulation win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night.

And the hero of the game for the team on offense was Patrice Bergeron.

Bergeron came out of the gate hot in this one and did a majority of the scoring for the Bruins in their victory. He netted the sixth hat trick of his career and his first since Oct. 27, 2019, against the New York Rangers.

Bergeron started the game off by scoring the opening goal on a feed from Brad Marchand. The goal marked the 900th point of Bergeron's career, all of which have come with the B's.

Shortly thereafter, Bergeron took another feed from Marchand and once again put it in the back of the net. That extended the Bruins' lead to 2-0 in the first period. At that point, the hat trick watch began.

Bergeron had to wait a long time to net his final goal. But with the Bruins up 3-2 late, Bergeron got a chance at a couple of empty net shots. The first one he took was blocked, but he fired his second attempt into the upper portion of the net from a distance.

As far as empty-netters go, that was pretty impressive. So too was Bergeron's effort throughout the contest. He was certainly the best skater on the ice for the Bruins and did well to help the team earn a crucial victory and secure Jeremy Swayman (42 saves) a victory in his first NHL start.

Bergeron now has 15 goals on the season which ranks as the third-most on the B's behind Brad Marchand (18) and David Pastrnak (16).
