Morning Skate: It's a messy situation over in Ottawa

Here are all the links from around the hockey world, and what I’m reading while congratulating the Bruins on the seven-year anniversary of them last winning the Cup. . .

*Pro Hockey Talk says that no big moves are needed for the Nashville Predators as they’re primed for another Cup run. That means that those rumors over the last month of the Preds potentially moving PK Subban were more fiction than anything else.

*FOH (Friend of Haggs) Don Brennan says that the Ottawa Senators franchise “is screwed” based on their current circumstances. It’s really hard to argue that point.

*P.A. Parenteau announced his retirement from the NHL, and was pretty candid on a number of subjects, including John Tavares.

*Are the Dallas Stars going to be able to come full circle while building up a contender next season and beyond?

*Ken Dryden has some pointed words about Gary Bettman and the NHL based on their reactions to the concussion issue thus far.

*Seven years ago today the Bruins won the Stanley Cup in Vancouver, and concluded a memorable, outstanding Stanley Cup Final that hasn’t been topped in entertainment value since then. I have to say that I wouldn’t recommend three cross-continental flights back-and-forth in an 11-day span for the heck of it, but it certainly added to my experience of covering it all.

*For something completely different: This throwback SI article with Wade Boggs talking hitting with Don Mattingly and Ted Williams is pretty great.
