Tom Brady went out of his way to find Patrick Mahomes after the AFC Championship Game on Sunday.
So, what did the legendary New England Patriots quarterback want to share with the Kansas City Chiefs' rising star?
Mahomes joined ESPN's "NFL Live" set from the 2019 Pro Bowl festivities in Orlando to explain how Brady communicated his respect for the young QB while sharing advice for the future.
"I think it was a little bit of both," Mahomes said to ESPN analyst Tedy Bruschi, who asked him about the interaction. "It was such a great game with so many emotions where it was going back and forth at the end. He just came up to me and was kind of giving me -- saying, 'Good game,' and everything like that.
"I mean, he was in my place. He was young. He got to win the Super Bowl in his first year with you (Bruschi) and everybody, so he understands that time flies by and (told me) to make sure to put in the work. And I think he saw that I've put in the work to be in those situations."
Mahomes is a little off: Brady's magical 2001 season technically was his second with the Patriots, as he backed up Drew Bledsoe until Mo Lewis' infamous hit on the starting QB early in the 2001 campaign.

In that sense, Mahomes is very similar to Brady. The 23-year-old took a backseat to Alex Smith during his rookie year in 2017 before blossoming into the likely NFL MVP this season.
Mahomes' magic wasn't enough in Kansas City's 37-31 overtime loss on Sunday, but when the greatest quarterback of all time is personally seeking you out to talk, you're clearly doing something right.
