Kraft: Belichick and I know when he'll retire

HOUSTON -- Bill Belichick’s Hall of Fame career could see yet another Lombardi Trophy added to the mantle Sunday. But when will it end?

Pats owner Robert Kraft told the Washington Post that it’s something that has been discussed between he and the New England coach.

“We have a pact that we don’t talk about that,” Kraft said. “He knows and I know. But he won’t be done this year.”

Kraft added the Belichick will continue to coach “as long as he wants.”

Set to turn 65 in April, Belichick has been coaching in the NFL since 1975. He is currently in his 17th season as Patriots head coach, making him the longest-tenured active coach in the league.

Belichick was asked in a press conference this week about being able to work into his mid-60s, as he has.

“I don’t really see it as work,” Belichick said. “This actually beats working. You get to do what you love to do.”
