The Patriots have signed former Giants guard Mitch Petrus, according to a source.
Petrus will give New England some help on the offensive line after it lost both Logan Mankins and Dan Connolly to injury in Sunday's 37-31 win over the Bills.
Mankins left in the third quarter with an ankle injury and did not return. Connolly was knocked out of the game in the second quarter with a back injury.
The Patriots also re-signed linebacker Jeff Tarpinian to the practice squad, releasing linebacker Jerrell Harris to make room.
