FOXBORO -- There's currently a locker for linebacker Jerrell Harris at Gillette.
Harris, a former member of the Alabama Crimson Tide and teammate of Patriots linebacker Dont'a Hightower, was wandering through the dressing room Tuesday morning. The team announced on Tuesday afternoon that he has been signed to the practice squad.
Bill Belichick's relationship with Alabama coach Nick Saban is known well enough that the move makes sense.

The 6-foot-3, 242-pound linebacker went undrafted in 2012, but was considered a top free agent in the aftermath. He was first picked up by Atlanta and made it through training camp until final roster cuts. He made two tackles in the Falcons' four preseason games.
Jacksonville signed Harris in late September. He was cut less than a month later.
