Javonte Green made his Boston Celtics and NBA debut on Sunday night. And in more ways that one, it was a big night for him.
Green played in 11 minutes for the Celtics all of which came in the second half, and he made some noise on offense. He took seven shots in the contest making all of them for 15 total points. He threw down some monster jams and showed off his athletic ability throughout most of the fourth quarter.
But this wasn't just Green's first time on the court at the NBA level. According to Taylor Snow of Celtics.com, that was Green's first NBA game ever. He had never been as a spectator.
It's not often that a person attends their first NBA game and puts 15 points up during it. But that's just what Green was able to do.
The 26-year-old Green went undrafted out of Radford in 2015 and played overseas for four seasons before joining the Celtics for the 2019 Las Vegas Summer League. He is signed to a partially-guaranteed contract and is fighting for the Celtics' 15th roster spot along with Tacko Fall.
