The Boston Celtics opened the 2022 NBA Finals with a historic fourth quarter comeback to win Game 1 against the Golden State Warriors on the road.
Al Horford led the Celtics with 26 points, including a playoff career-high six 3-point field goals made. Several of those 3-pointers came in the final 12 minutes as the Celtics became the first team to win an NBA Finals game by double digits after trailing by double digits entering the fourth quarter.
But Horford is still a long shot to win Finals MVP.

There are three clear favorites -- Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, Warriors guard Stephen Curry and Celtics guard Jaylen Brown.
Tatum struggled to score in Game 1 with 12 points on 3-of-17 shooting. He did have 13 assists, however, which was the most ever by a player in his Finals debut. Curry scored 34 points, including a 21-point first quarter in which he made six 3-point shots. He struggled in the fourth quarter, though, scoring only four points as the Warriors' lead evaporated.
Brown scored 24 points and ignited Boston's comeback with 10 points over the first 4:22 of the final quarter.
