BOSTON -- The latest All-Star fan voting results are in with at least one Boston Celtics player - Kyrie Irving - on track to be a starter.
Irving, the top vote-getter among Eastern Conference guards (2,381,901 votes) and second overall in the East, isn’t the only Boston player among the top vote-getters.
Second-year wing Jayson Tatum is currently fourth (599,289 votes) among frontcourt players.
The top three frontcourt and top two backcourt players, based upon fan voting (50 percent), media (25 percent) and players (25 percent), will be starters in next month’s All-Star game in Charlotte.
Not surprisingly, Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokounmpo (2,670,816 votes) leads all players in the East, and he's second overall to Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James (2,779,812 votes).
MORE BLAKELY
Joining Antetokounmpo among the East starters if the voting stays as it is will be San Antonio’s Kawhi Leonard and Philly’s Joel Embiid.

The players near the top of the fan voting by and large aren’t all that surprising.
However, there are three potential starters - Miami’s Dwyane Wade in the East, Dallas rookie sensation Luka Doncic and Minnesota’s Derrick Rose out West - who have garnered a surprisingly large amount of support for different reasons.
With Wade, it is more of a “thanks for the memories” kind of feel to his high fan voting numbers. Wade has 1,199,789 votes, which is second among Eastern Conference guards to Kyrie Irving, and leads Charlotte’s Kemba Walker (858,798 votes) by nearly 300,000 votes.
As for Rose, the former league MVP has 1,986,840 votes with the reigning league MVP in Houston’s James Harden right behind him with 1,674,660 votes.
With Doncic, it is more about his appeal to basketball fans globally.
MORE CELTICS
The only player in the Western Conference with more votes than Doncic (2,220,077 votes) is James.
The current starters in the West if the voting stands as is will be James, Doncic, and Oklahoma City’s Paul George, with the backcourt being Golden State’s Steph Curry and Rose.
When the first round of fan voting was announced earlier this month, Doncic was - and still is - ahead of proven All-Star caliber players such as Golden State’s Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis of New Orleans and Oklahoma City’s George.
“I saw the list,” Doncic said shortly after the first round of voting was announced. “I was just surprised. It felt amazing. I was the happiest guy in the world right there.”
Other Celtics received votes as well, with Gordon Hayward (237,813 votes) and Al Horford (199,474 votes) currently eighth and 10th, respectively, among frontcourt players.
