The Boston Celtics will close out 2019 with a road game against the Charlotte Hornets, and they'll be without one of their best players.
Jaylen Brown, who scored 30 points on New Year's Eve last year, has been ruled out versus the Hornets due to illness. Brown was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week on Monday. The C's still should be able to beat the Hornets without Brown. Boston is 2-0 against Charlotte this season with an average margin of victory of 23.5 points.
The Celtics have won seven of their last 10 games, but they're coming off a disappointing 113-97 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night during which their defensive effort was poor. The Hornets, who've lost five games in a row, are an ideal opponent for the C's to get back on track entering 2020.
