The Boston Red Sox finally got a win over the Baltimore Orioles.
After a lackluster season-opening series that saw them get swept by Baltimore, Boston got some revenge. In what was largely a tightly contested game, the Red Sox were able to string together a couple of two-run innings in the sixth and seventh to put away the Orioles.
Eduardo Rodriguez made his first start of the season and looked solid in doing so. After struggling in the first inning and allowing a two-run homer to Ryan Mountcastle, Rodriguez settled down and completed four innings of one-run baseball after that. He was able to earn the win and threw just 79 pitches on the day.

On offense, a bulk of the team's offense came from the middle of their order. Rafael Devers hit his first homer of the season in the first inning to give the Sox a 2-0 lead and he put together his best game to date against the Orioles.
Elsewhere, J.D. Martinez and Christian Vazquez stayed hot. The duo combined for five hits, two runs, and an RBI in 10 total at-bats. Martinez became just the fifth player in MLB history to notch an extra-base hit in each of his first seven games of the season.
Kiké Hernández also hit his first homer of the season which was also his first as a member of the Red Sox.
FINAL SCORE: Red Sox 7, Orioles 3
