Roman Polak's agent called Bruins broadcaster ‘a piece of for comments

The good news is it appears Dallas Stars defenseman Roman Polak is going to be okay after being transported to a Dallas hospital after a nasty tumble into the boards in last night’s Bruins season-opening 2-1 win.

Polak tumbled awkwardly head and neck first into the boards after sliding off Chris Wagner as he attempted to make contact with the Bruins winger in the corner while battling for a puck during the second period of Thursday night’s opener.

The veteran D-men wasn’t moving at all while down on the ice, and had to be taken off via stretcher while Bruins and Stars players alike tapped their sticks in respect to the fallen warrior.

It was a scary situation, no doubt.

The news was good later, however, as Polak had feeling in all of his extremities and seemed to be doing better at the hospital according to Dallas coach Jim Montgomery. Unfortunately, NESN play-by-play man Jack Edwards felt the need on the broadcast to say it was “bad hockey karma” for Polak in the seconds after it happened, seemingly intimating that the hard-edged defenseman had it coming to him.

Whelp, that didn’t sit well with Polak’s agent and understandably so. Allan Walsh took to Twitter on Friday morning and labeled Edwards “a piece of [expletive]” while calling out the broadcaster for being “an absolute disgrace.”

Walsh added he had “tremendous respect” for the Bruins players that reached out to him to check on Polak after the incident. Bruins captain Zdeno Chara made certain to give Polak a quick pat and a message as he was being wheeled off the ice on a stretcher, and it was no doubt that the scary incident cast a pall over the rest of the game while nobody quite knew if the Dallas defenseman was going to be okay.
