Another one of the Boston Bruins' potential Stanley Cup playoff opponents has made a move to bolster its roster ahead of Monday's NHL trade deadline.
The Washington Capitals reportedly have acquired defenseman Brenden Dillon from the San Jose Sharks, per TSN's Pierre LeBrun. The price was not cheap. LeBrun reports Washington is sending San Jose second- and third-round draft picks. Here are additional details on the trade compensation:

Dillon, who the Bruins reportedly were interested in, was among the best defensemen rumored to be available at the trade deadline. The 29-year-old veteran isn't likely to light up the stat sheet with goals and assists, but he does drive puck possession at a positive rate. The Sharks had a plus-64 edge in shot attempts, a plus-34 advantage in shots on goal and a plus-42 mark in scoring chances at 5-on-5 when Dillon was on the ice.
What moves could the Bruins make?
Boston Bruins
Adding secondary scoring should be a priority for general manager Don Sweeney as the trade deadline nears. TSN reported Tuesday the Bruins and Colorado Avalanche have emerged as the frontrunners for New York Rangers forward Chris Kreider -- the top player rumored to be available.
The Tampa Bay Lightning, who are one point behind the Bruins for the league's best record and first place in the Atlantic Division, acquired forward Blake Coleman in a trade with the New Jersey Devils on Sunday. The Pittsburgh Penguins acquired veteran forward Jason Zucker earlier this month.
The Bruins need to do something, and names are starting to come off the board quickly.
