Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum just took home a gold medal from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Could Boston Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy do the same at the 2022 Beijing Olympics?
Cassidy on Monday was named an assistant coach for Team Canada's 2022 Olympics squad. He'll join Vegas Golden Knights coach Peter DeBoer and New York Islanders coach Barry Trotz as assistants under Canada head coach Jon Cooper of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Bruins general manager Don Sweeney also will work with Team Canada as its assistant general manager.
It's a cool honor for Cassidy, who has been one of the NHL's best coaches since taking the Bruins job in 2016. The Ottawa native owns a 194-82-41 coaching record with Boston, led the B's to the Stanley Cup Final in 2019 and won the Jack Adams Award as the NHL's best head coach in 2020.
While the Bruins' schedule includes a break from Feb. 2 to Feb. 23 for the Beijing Olympics (Feb. 4 to Feb. 20), it's still unclear whether NHL players will participate in the 2022 Games after sitting out the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics.

If they do play, Cassidy could work with two of his Bruins players in Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand. Bergeron competed for Team Canada at the 2010 and 2014 Olympics, while Marchand helped Canada win the IIHF World Championship in 2016.
