Brad Marchand carved his name into the Boston Bruins record book with his shorthanded goal in Sunday night's 6-3 loss to the Detroit Red Wings.

Marchand scored his 26th career shorthanded tally in the second period, moving him ahead of B's legend Rick Middleton for the most shorthanded goals in franchise history.

It was Marchand's third shorthanded goal of the season and 35th overall, as well as his 98th point.

He has a good chance with three regular-season games remaining to become the first Bruins player with 100-plus points in a single season since Joe Thornton back in 2002-03.
