Tom Brady leads full-blown workout with Bucs skill players at Tampa HS

After a few initial hiccups, Tom Brady is taking full advantage of his new status as a Tampa resident.

The former New England Patriots quarterback was spotted working out with about eight of his Tampa Bay Buccaneers teammates early Tuesday morning on the football field of a Tampa-area high school, the Tampa Bay Times' Rick Stroud and Joey Knight reported Tuesday.

Per Stroud and Knight, Brady appeared to lead the two-hour throwing session, which ran from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. ET and included center Ryan Jensen, wide receivers Mike Evans and Scotty Miller, tight ends Cameron Brate and O.J. Howard (but not Rob Gronkowski), quarterbacks Blaine Gabbert and Ryan Griffin and running back Dare Ogunbowale.

The group ran through several route combinations and situational drills with Brady "showing players exactly where to make their cuts," according to Stroud and Knight.

They even stuck around for 25 minutes after the session to do some "relationship building."

Brady's workout session might irk Patriots fans for a few reasons. First, the 42-year-old quarterback didn't attend the Patriots' organized team activities during his final two seasons in New England but apparently now is gung-ho about training with his teammates in the middle of a global pandemic.

Second, Brady is doing something New England's Jarrett Stidham probably can't, as most athletic fields in Massachusetts are closed to prohibit the playing of recreational sports.

But Brady and his teammates technically didn't violate any laws Tuesday, according to ESPN's Jenna Laine, who noted Florida's social distancing measures allow gatherings of 10 people or fewer.

Brady also has extra work to do as he gets acquainted with new teammates for the first time in 20 years. So, if you're in the Tampa area, expect to see more of a QB in a burnt orange jersey on the city's athletic fields.
