The New England Patriots have finally upgraded their depth and talent level at wide receiver.

Free agent wide receiver Nelson Agholor to a two-year deal worth $26 million, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter

NFL Media's Mike Garafolo reported more details on Agholor's contract:

Agholor isn't the only impactful addition the Patriots have made since the league's legal tampering period opened Monday.

They reportedly also came to terms on a contract with free agent tight end Jonnu Smith, outside linebacker Matthew Judon, defensive back Jalen Mills and nose tackle Davon Godchaux.

Agholor is coming off one of his best pro seasons. He tallied 48 receptions for a career-high 896 yards and eight touchdowns (tied a career high) in 16 games for the Las Vegas Raiders in 2020.

The 27-year-old wideout spent the first five seasons of his career with the Philadelphia Eagles after they selected him 20th overall in the 2015 NFL Draft.

The Patriots had one of the worst wide receiver groups in the league last season. Two of the biggest issues were Julian Edelman missing the last nine games due to injury and 2019 first-round pick N'Keal Harry failing to meet expectations. Jakobi Meyers had a nice breakout season, but aside from that, there weren't many positives.

Agholor's speed and big-play ability are valuable (and much-needed) additions to the Patriots offense.
