New York Giants co-owner John Mara made it clear on Monday that he wants Deflategate to be over.
But according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, Mara has denied a request from the NFL to help negotiate a settlement in the Tom Brady case because it would create a conflict of interest with another franchise.
Judge Richard Berman still encourages the NFL and NFLPA to reach a settlement, so the talks with have to continue without the Giants co-owner.
If there is no settlement reached between the two sides, they will meet again Aug. 31 at 11 a.m. with Tom Brady and Roger Goodell present for the conference.
