Report: Jets acquire QB Joe Flacco in trade with Eagles

With rookie quarterback Zach Wilson sidelined due to a knee injury, the New York Jets wasted no time finding a replacement.

Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports the Jets have acquired veteran QB Joe Flacco in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles. New York will send a conditional sixth-round pick to Philly that can become a fifth-rounder based on Flacco's playing time.

Wilson suffered a sprained PCL and was replaced at QB by Mike White during the Jets' 54-13 loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft is expected to miss 2-4 weeks as a result.

Flacco, 36, played in five games for the Jets last season as a backup for Sam Darnold. The 2012 Super Bowl XLVII champion signed a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the Eagles this past offseason.

The Jets are 1-6 on the campaign following their Week 7 loss to New England. They'll host the red-hot Cincinnati Bengals next Sunday.
