NFL rumors: Patriots will attend Colin Kaepernick's workout Saturday

The New England Patriots will be among several teams in attendance for former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick's private workout this weekend.

The Boston Globe's Jim McBride reported Wednesday afternoon the Pats "will have a representative" at the session in Atlanta. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, when asked during Wednesday's press conference about Kaepernick's workout, was "not sure" if the Patriots would send anyone.

Kaepernick was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in 2011 and played six seasons for them. He hasn't been able to land a job with any team since his final game for the 49ers in the 2016 season. It was during that season Kaepernick protested racial inequality by kneeling during the "Star-Spangled Banner" before kickoff. Kaepernick reached a settlement in his collusion case against the league in February.

The Patriots won't be the only team getting a look at the 32-year-old Kaepernick.

Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores confirmed Wednesday that his team will send someone. The Denver Broncos will send a scout, per 9News' Mike Klis. Sports Illustrated's Mike Fisher reported the Dallas Cowboys will be there, too.
