The MVP picture is looking clearer as we enter the final weeks of the season, and the contenders are (mostly) the usual suspects.
Let’s rank some quarterbacks.

Week 14 stats: 24-of-40, 221 yards, 0 TD, 4 INT
Season stats: 2,735 yards, 9 TD, 14 INT, 243 yards, 2 rush TD
Thankfully, he’s getting a new coach. Get him a good one (and a healthy D.J. Chark next season).
31. Zach Wilson, Jets
New England Patriots
Week 14 stats: 19-of-42, 202 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT, 33 rush yards
Season stats: 1,741 yards, 8 TD, 8 INT
Wilson has just one game with a QBR over 70 this season. Time’s running out for him to show some real promise as a rookie.
30. Cam Newton, Panthers
Week 14 stats: 15-of-23, 178 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT, 47 rush yards, 1 rush TD
Season stats: 467 yards, 3 TD, 3 INT, 112 rush yards, 4 rush TD
Newton took a step in the right direction after his horrible Week 13 game against Miami, but he was still bad against the Falcons.
29. Mike Glennon, Giants
Week 14 stats: 17-of-36, 191 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT, 1 rush TD
Season stats: 574 yards, 3 TD, 4 INT, 1 rush TD
Glennon will remain under center while Daniel Jones deals with a neck injury. He’s yet to throw for 200 yards in two starts this season.
28. Case Keenum, Browns
Week 14 stats: N/A
Season stats: 286 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT
With Baker Mayfield out with COVID-19, Keenum will be under center for the Browns. Keenum turned in a decent performance back in October against the Broncos.
27. Davis Mills, Texans
Week 14 stats: 33-of-49, 331 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT
Season stats: 1,737 yards, 8 TD, 8 INT
His season stats are tainted by two dreadful games (and his team), but Mills might actually be having a decent rookie season if he were on an OK team. Alas, he is not.
26. Tua Tagovailoa, Dolphins
Week 14 stats: BYE
Season stats: 1,945 yards, 12 TD, 6 INT, 3 rush TD
The second-year QB had two four pretty good games in a row -- all wins -- heading into the bye. We’ll see if he’s the same guy.
25. Justin Fields, Bears
Week 14 stats: 18-of-33, 224 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT, 74 rush yards
Season stats: 1,585 yards, 6 TD, 10 INT, 385 rush yards, 2 rush TD
A strong finish to the season would really benefit Fields when it comes to what the Chicago fanbase thinks of him. Not only would it be nice for him to have some great games, but winning would lessen the sting of the first-round draft pick the Giants currently own as a result of the Bears trading up for the QB.
24. Taylor Heinicke, Football Team
Week 14 stats: 11-of-25, 122 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
Season stats: 2,931 yards, 19 TD, 12 INT, 297 yards, 1 rush TD
Heinicke’s thrown picks in three straight games and has 12 on the season.
23. Matt Ryan, Falcons
Week 14 stats: 19-of-28, 190 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT
Season stats: 3,104 yards, 17 TD, 11 INT, 1 rush TD
His touchdown pass last week against the Panthers was just his second in the last five games.
22. Jalen Hurts, Eagles
Week 14 stats: BYE
Season stats: 2,435 yards, 13 TD, 8 INT, 693 rush yards, 8 rush TD
Hurts has had the bye week to try to get over his absolutely putrid performance (zero touchdowns, three picks) against the Giants.
21. Jared Goff, Lions
Week 14 stats: 24-of-39, 215 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
Season stats: 2,791 yards, 14 TD, 8 INT
After going three straight games without a pick, Goff has been intercepted in each of his last two contests.
20. Ryan Tannehill, Titans
Week 14 stats: 20-of-31, 191 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT, 29 rush yards, 1 rush TD
Season stats: 2,965 yards, 14 TD, 13 INT, 225 yards, 6 rush TD
Tannehill hasn’t been himself this season. The easy connection to make is that it’s because he hasn’t had the pieces around him, but it’s still worrisome given that he was clearly a franchise quarterback the last two years.
19. Taysom Hill, Saints
Week 14 stats: 15-of-21, 175 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT, 73 rush yards, 2 rush TD
Season stats: 495 yards, 2 TD, 5 INT, 278 rush yards, 5 rush TD
He’s certainly a great fantasy player, but the jury is still out on whether Hill is a viable starting quarterback.
18. Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers
Week 14 stats: 28-of-40, 308 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT
Season stats: 3,066 yards, 19 TD, 7 INT
We could very well be heading into Roethlisberger’s last games in the NFL. Getting this Steelers team to the playoffs would be a nice final touch.
17. Derek Carr, Raiders
Week 14 stats: 33-of-45, 263 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
Season stats: 3,926 yards, 18 TD, 10 INT
Carr’s having a down year. After years of not being sure whether he was John Gruden’s guy, are we sure the next guy will want him?
16. Mac Jones, Patriots
Week 14 stats: BYE
Season stats: 2,869 yards, 16 TD, 8 INT
Jones has been average, but he’s limited the mistakes over the course of his rookie season. The Patriots will take that.
15. Jimmy Garoppolo, 49ers
Week 14 stats: 27-of-41, 296 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT
Season stats: 2,937 yards, 17 TD, 8 INT, 3 rush TD
Garoppolo has probably been better than a guy who’s about to be replaced next season. His offseason market should be interesting.
14. Lamar Jackson, Ravens
Week 14 stats: 1-of-4, 17 yards, 0 TD, 0 INT, 5 rush yards
Season stats: 2,882 yards, 16 TD, 13 INT, 767 rush yards, 3 rush TD
He hasn’t been himself, but that’s because he hasn’t been healthy. Jackson is currently day-to-day with a sprained ankle.
13. Teddy Bridgewater, Broncos
Week 14 stats: 18-of-25, 179 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT
Season stats: 2,954 yards, 18 TD, 7 INT, 2 rush TD
Bridgewater has gone five of his last six games without throwing an interception. He’s back to what he was early in the season.
12. Joe Burrow, Bengals
Week 14 stats: 25-of-34, 348 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT
Season stats: 3,483 yards, 25 TD, 14 INT, 2 rush yards
Coming off a strong performance in a loss to the 49ers, Burrow is dealing with a finger injury. He’s thrown picks in all but four games this season.
11. Kyler Murray, Cardinals
Week 14 stats: 32-of-49, 383 yards, 0 TD, 2 INT, 61 rush yards
Season stats: 2,782 yards, 19 TD, 9 INT, 267 rush yards, 5 rush TD
Dating back to October, Murray has thrown multiple picks (and no touchdowns) in two of his last three games.
10. Russell Wilson, Seahawks
Week 14 stats: 17-of-28, 260 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT
Season stats: 2,302 yards, 16 TD, 4 INT, 141 rush yards, 1 rush TD
The missed time (among other things) have contributed to a down year statistically for Wilson, but he’s still one of the best players in the league.
9. Carson Wentz, Colts

Season stats: 2,948 yards, 22 TD, 5 INT, 167 rush yards, 1 rush TD
Wentz joins Kirk Cousins as quarterbacks who have been among the best in the league this season, even if that feels weird for a lot of people to say.
8. Kirk Cousins, Vikings
Week 14 stats: 14-of-31, 216 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT
Season stats: 3,569 yards, 27 TD, TD, 5 INT, 1 rush TD
Cousins… joins Wentz as quarterbacks who have been among the best in the league this season, even if that feels weird for a lot of people to say.
7. Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs
Week 14 stats: 20-of-24, 258 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, 20 rush yards
Season stats: 3,642 yards, 27 TD, 12 INT, 270 rush yards, 2 rush TD
The ups and downs of Mahomes’ season continued last week, as he bounced back from two bad games with a solid performance against the Raiders. Most importantly, the Chiefs have won six straight.
6. Dak Prescott, Cowboys
Week 14 stats: 22-of-39, 211 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT, 15 rush yards
Season stats: 3,381 yards, 24 TD, 10 INT, 1 rush TD
Prescott’s been unremarkable the last couple of weeks, but he still could very well end up having the best season of his career. He’s just got to keep an eye on those interceptions.
5. Justin Herbert, Chargers
Week 14 stats: 23-of-31, 275 yards, 3 TD, 0 INT, 19 rush yards
Season stats: 3,822 yards, 30 TD, 11 INT, 268 rush yards, 2 rush TD
Herbert’s got to be feeling himself heading into Thursday’s matchup with the Chiefs. He’s tossed three touchdown passes in three of his last four games.
4. Josh Allen, Bills
Week 14 stats: 31-of-54, 308 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT, 109 rush yards, 1 rush TD
Season stats: 3,524 yards, 28 TD, 11 INT, 531 rush yards, 4 rush TD
The Bills are giving Mitchell Trubisky extra reps in practice in case Allen’s toe keeps him out this week, but the Bills need the wins at this point.
3. Matthew Stafford, Rams
Week 14 stats: 23-of-30, 287 yards, 3 TD, 0 INT
Season stats: 3,898 yards, 33 TD, 9 INT
After a couple of down weeks in mid-November, Stafford is super duper back. He’s been great the last three weeks (9 TD, 1 INT).
2. Aaron Rodgers, Packers
Week 14 stats: 29-of-37, 341 yards, 4 TD, 0 INT
Season stats: 3,219 yards, 27 TD, 4 INT, 3 rush TD
Eleven total touchdowns and no picks over his last three games. Aaron Rodgers is very good.
1. Tom Brady, Buccaneers
Week 14 stats: 31-of-46, 363 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, 16 rush yards, 1 rush TD
Season stats: 4,134 yards, 36 TD, 10 INT, 2 rush yards
At this point, MVP is Brady’s to lose. He’s just got to not screw it up against the Saints, a team that’s given him fits since he’s been in Tampa.
