Judon continues DeAndre Hopkins recruitment amid new development

Matt Judon doesn't take many days off on social media, especially if there's an opportunity to recruit a Pro Bowler to New England.

The Patriots' Pro Bowl edge defender has already tweeted at the likes of DeAndre Hopkins, Odell Beckham Jr. and Lamar Jackson this offseason in attempts to sell them on playing with him in Foxboro.

On Monday, Judon doubled down on his pursuit of Hopkins, tweeting a photo of himself and the Arizona Cardinals' star wide receiver along with the message (conveyed via meme), "You may not like it, but accept it."

The Patriots reportedly haven't been serious Hopkins suitors since the Cardinals gave teams permission to talk to his representatives about a trade. But Judon's tweet comes after a notable development: According to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, some teams believe Arizona may release Hopkins because his age and contract make him hard to move.

The Cardinals reportedly sought at least one high draft pick in return for Hopkins, a five-time Pro Bowler who caught 64 passes for 717 yards last season despite playing in just nine games. Hopkins will turn 31 in June, however, and his $ 31 million cap hit may scare some teams away.

If Arizona releases Hopkins outright, though, that changes the equation. The Patriots could use more talent in a receiving room currently led by JuJu Smith-Schuster, so if Hopkins could be signed to a somewhat reasonable contract without the added cost of draft compensation, perhaps that would pique Bill Belichick's interest.

How much Judon is aware of Hopkins' current situation isn't exactly clear, but at the very least, his Hopkins-related tweet Monday was well-timed.
