Falcons linebacker De’Vondre Campbell did not have a great time in the final minutes of Super Bowl LI.
First, he committed pass interference on Martellus Bennett in overtime, setting up a first-and-goal for the Patriots from the 2-yard-line. Two plays later, he watched as James White ran it into the endzone.
Campbell said after the game that he thought he had made a “great play” on Bennett. Now he’s weighed in on White’s game-winning touchdown.
"I don't think he got in," Campbell said in a Bleacher Report feature that ran this week.
Though the celebration and confetti probably distracted the average viewer at the time, the play was indeed reviewed and upheld.
