Offensive lineman Trent Brown left the New England Patriots in March 2019 to sign a record contract with the Oakland Raiders.
Around that same time, he committed the first of several acts of domestic violence against Diorra Marzette-Sanders, according to ProFootball Talk's Mike Florio, who shared the details of a lawsuit filed by Marzette-Sanders on Monday in a California civil court.
According to the lawsuit, Brown "grabbed" Marzette-Sanders' face and "covered her mouth while choking her out until she couldn’t breathe" during an incident in March 2019.
The lawsuit alleges Brown turned violent against Marzette-Sanders again in April and a third time in June, and that the 26-year-old has left her "bruised, bloodied and battered" on several occasions.
On one of those occasions, per the lawsuit, Brown told Marzette-Sanders he'd "shoot yo ass in the f–king head" when she threatened to leave with her son.
Per Florio, the NFL is expected to investigate these allegations as it did with ex-Patriots wide receiver Antonio Brown, who was the subject of a civil lawsuit accusing him of rape and sexual assault last month.
